Prod. no. 7640277846456
Product Description
The MegaMat Max is 50 per cent thicker than the EXPED MegaMat and is ideal for a touch more luxury at base camp or as a cosy guest bed.
The special 3D construction ensures the largest possible sleeping surface. The core of the MegaMat Max consists of 15 cm thick foam, providing optimum support for the body whilst sleeping. With an R-value of 10.6, this mat offers excellent insulation. Air channels within the foam help to reduce weight and pack size without compromising on comfort. The surface is made from soft tricot polyester for a pleasant feel against the skin.
The MegaMat Max is self-inflating. The included Top Up Pump makes it very easy to achieve the desired firmness. The two flat valves allow for quick and easy inflation and deflation. Thanks to the practical carrying strap on the side, the mat is easy to move around. Included in the package are our handy Sidewinder Bag for quick and easy packing, as well as a repair kit.

Climate protection with myclimate
Since 2021, EXPED has been supporting certified myclimate climate protection projects through a financial contribution. Together with the nonprofit organization, we have calculated the carbon footprint of all our products and our operations at our Zurich location. Our annual contribution is based on this calculation - but it does not change the carbon footprint itself.
This product contains recycled materials. You can find the exact composition in the material description.
Oeko-tex certified material
Oeko-Tex® is a testing and Certification system for raw materials and finished products. All materials of this product which are accordingly labelled are tested and certified according to the Oeko-Tex® standard.

All EXPED textile products are made without intentionally added PFAS since 2025. We work closely with suppliers and perform independent tests to ensure our products contain zero PFAS.
5 years years on defects in materials and workmanship
R-value is a measure of thermal resistance. It indicates the efficiency of insulation by measuring its resistance to heat transfer. The higher the number, the slower the rate of heat transfer through an insulation.
In EXPED sleeping mats, higher R-values help sleepers retain the heat their bodies generate and the result is the pleasant and sometimes elusive condition called warmth.
Good to know: ISO-rated sleeping bags are tested with 7R mats. EXPED recommends using a sleeping mat with an R-Value of at least 6.5 or higher to ensure your sleeping bag provides the warmth it is rated for.
