Product Description
The MegaMat Max Duo is 50 per cent thicker than the EXPED MegaMat and is ideal for a touch more luxury at base camp or as a cosy guest bed.
With a width of 132 cm, the Duo version is perfect for adventures for two or as an extra-large, luxurious single mat. The special 3D construction ensures the largest possible sleeping surface. The core of the MegaMat Max consists of 15 cm thick foam, providing optimal support for the body whilst sleeping. With an R-value of 10.6, this mat offers excellent insulation. Air channels within the foam help to reduce weight and pack size without compromising on comfort.
The MegaMat Max Duo features 30 per cent larger foam channels for an even smaller pack size. The surface is made from soft polyester jersey for a comfortable feel against the skin.
The MegaMat Max is self-inflating. The included Top Up Pump makes it very easy to achieve the desired firmness. Air is released via two large deflation valves. Thanks to the two practical carrying straps on the sides, the mat is easy to move.
Included in the package are our handy Sidewinder Bag for quick and easy packing, as well as a repair kit.

All EXPED textile products are made without intentionally added PFAS since 2025. We work closely with suppliers and perform independent tests to ensure our products contain zero PFAS.
5 years years on defects in materials and workmanship
R-value is a measure of thermal resistance. It indicates the efficiency of insulation by measuring its resistance to heat transfer. The higher the number, the slower the rate of heat transfer through an insulation.
In EXPED sleeping mats, higher R-values help sleepers retain the heat their bodies generate and the result is the pleasant and sometimes elusive condition called warmth.
Good to know: ISO-rated sleeping bags are tested with 7R mats. EXPED recommends using a sleeping mat with an R-Value of at least 6.5 or higher to ensure your sleeping bag provides the warmth it is rated for.
Warning Sleeping Mat & Accessories
Not suitable for children under the age of three. Choking hazard as the product is impermeable to air and contains small parts that can be swallowed.
Warning Repair Kit
The glue in the repair kit contains solvents and is flammable! Keep it away from open flames and heat sources! Use the adhesive only in well-ventilated areas and avoid contact with skin, eyes, and mucous membranes! In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with water and seek medical advice if irritation persists. Store the adhesive out of reach of children in a cool, dry place!
